Volleyball isn't just about fun though. It takes a lot of effort, practice, time, and a lot of teamwork, being able to bump, set, and spike. If your on a team it's important that you are able to trust your teammates and you also have to put in a lot of effort. In this webquest I'm going to take you through some basic steps. At the end of this webquest you should be able to know the basic steps.

In the game of volleyball, your task, as in many other games, is to win! You must crush your opponent with your superior knowledge and teamwork. Once you get those essential skills you should work on practicing some more basic skills, such as, bump, set, and spiking.

In order to learn how to play volleyball you should probably have a volleyball and you might want to get a net. Then once you have a volleyball, you should start with learning how to bump. I'm going to teach you the steps.
Steps on how to bump a volleyball!
1. Make a fist with one hand, but put your thumb on your first finger.
2. Now with your other hand, you should cuff it over the hand that is in a fist.
3. Have your arms straight out with your hands in the position above.
4. Throw the ball up in the air, put your hands in the position above and then wait for the ball to come down. Once the ball comes down you want to bump it with your forearm.
5. Then after you start to get the hang of it try to keep bumping the ball so it doesn't fall.
Now it's time to learn how to set. These are easy steps to learn.
Steps on how to set a volleyball
1. You want to throw the ball up in the air or have someone throw it for you.
2. Next, you want to bend your elbows and have your hands above your head.
3. Then you want to have the ball thrown up in the air and wait for it to come to your hands once the ball touches your hands push up. The ball will then fly back in the air and do this over and over again. That's how you learn to set.
Next you can try spiking. This is a little more difficult then the other two steps.
Steps on how to spike a volleyball
1. Be about 10 feet away from the net.
2. Then have someone set the ball to you.
3. Run up to the net, but only take three steps when you run ( keep in mind if you are right handed you might want to run going right, left, right, if you are left handed do the opposite.)
4. Then jump up and wait for the ball to come to you.
5. Once the ball comes to you, use your dominate hand and swing your arm making the ball go down on the other side of the net.
Now you know the basic steps in volleyball. I hope that this has helped you learn about volleyball.
